Moved

Well, for those of you who don't know, we have some big changes going on in our life. Craig and I have made the decision to build a house on our land. We have the plans, and the permits, and we are getting ready to go to the bank.

That being said our lease was up at our apartment, and they wouldn't let us sign anything less than a year lease, so, on top of the house building process, we had to find an interium place to stay. Easier said than done; but, thank goodness for my inlaws... they are currently building a house in Oklahoma, and have been staying there much of the time, so they offerred to let us stay in their house here in Aubrey in exchange for taking care of the place. So we are about a mile from the build site and staying in a nice house for the duration of the build.

Other than that, we are just adjusting to the move, staying busy with work and getting ready to build our home.

A week in review

Well A lot has been happening over the last week or so...

Last weekend I went to my friend Amanda's house out in San Angelo.... she lives on a HUGE working ranch out there, where my favorite thing to do is go for a long ride! I am sure she gets tired of it because she sees it everyday, but I just love it! Anyway, I was out there with her while she was getting her bridal portraits done... She looked amazing! It was great to see her so confident and happy.. I know she is looking forward to her marriage to Jeremy in about 30 days...

This week has been a whirlwind of activities with a little work thrown in. I Picked up my mare and baby from the breeding farm, but was disappointed to see that she had no spots... thus she will be registered as a breeding stock paint... not the best, but she is still eligible for the futurities... and man is she cute! She shure can move...

This weekend, I am headed to College Station to spend the weekend with the girls for Amanda's bachelorette party! We have some exciting things planned, but alas I can't talk about them until the weekend is over... you will have to stay in suspense just like Amanda has been all month.
\Well that is my life in a nutshell, at least what it has been for the last week or two!

Weekend

So this weekend we spent pretty much the whole weekend with family, and it was really a fun time. Friday was my brother-in-law's Bday, so we went to this great Italian food place that we had never been to over in Frisco! Then Sat, we went to Lone Star Park to the horse races. I had a BLAST! And won a little bit of money too.. I was doing small bets, but I won all my money back and made $35.00 so I thought that was pretty good! I could really get addicted to that! Anyway, plans are hopefully in the works for us to go back soon... Then Sunday was Easter with the whole family at my in-laws house, where we got to hunt Easter eggs with my 2 and1/2 yr old neice. She was really funny bc she liked to hunt them, however had no care for what was inside of them... and I should tell you that my in-laws put cash money along with candy inside the eggs... the prizes are worth about $300.00 every year... makes for a good hunt:)

Blog Revolution

So, I have recently discovered my facination with all things blog... I read my friends blogs, I read their friends blogs, and so on and so forth. So, in order for me not to look like some blog stalker, I figured it was time for me to step up and blog so others can reciprocate what I have henceforth done.

So to start this blog, we will recap the last few months and fast forward to this week... Over the last few months I have been starting my chiropractic practice, and had a revelation. Doctors are broke! And I don't mean a little broke, I mean the kind of broke that you hear about while sitting in some coffee shop somewhere and think to yourself, "Thank God that is not ME!" Well guess what, it is me! And that is not to say that my practice is not doing well, on the contrary, it is growing exponentially, however when you are facing the kind of student loan debt any medically oriented student is, well lets just say that it takes big dollar signs to make you think about being able to one day afford the kind of life the rest of the world thinks that Doctors live... there are no, lambos, mansions, or 5 carat diamonds laying round this Doctor's place...

Anyway, I should probably mention at this time that my practice is primarily equine chiropractic. Yes, that's right. I provide chiropractic services for horses. I do still treat people, and I would like to think that I am pretty good at it, however, my passion is the horses. I guess somethings never change. :) With that in mind, this week I was on a business trip to Oklahoma to treat some horses for a trainer, and I must say, it went very well... to top it off, Craig took 2 days off from work to go with me. Im sure it was kind of boring for him, but I enjoyed the company on the long ride there and back. Although he did tease me mercilessly about my inability to trust the GPS.

Speaking of the GPS: is it so wierd that I sometimes think the GPS is wrong?... lets take this week for example. On the drive up to this ranch, I followed the directions given by my client and arrived straight there with no problems. I, however, had the GPS on and pretty much berrated it the whole trip for what I percieved as "stupid directions" because though it was on, whenever it told me to do something that was not written on my little peice of paper with my phone directions from the client, I ignored it. Of course, then we had to listen to it say " RECALCULATING" about 1000 times in that voice that you know that if it was a real person with facial expression, you would see that condescending " you are an idiot" look that would just piss you off... *sigh* Needless to say the GPS and I do NOT get along. So, on the way back Craig convinced me to try the GPS without comment and let it take us home. So... though we took 35 all the way to OKC and then 44 to Tulsa, quick and simple on the way up, and got there in 4 hours.. I decided to give it a try. And somehow passed through every podunk, hillbilly town in Ok...with nothing of interest anywhere.... no cell service, no major freeways and ended up in Sherman, TX and then had to drive forever west to get to Denton, and took 4 hrs, 45 min. to get home.... but the GPS is right....
